A study published in the journal In Vivo shows Curcumin blocks cytokine release, most importantly the key pro-inflammatory cytokines, interleukin- 1, interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP1) and macrophage inflammatory protein-1α (MIP1α) release from monocytes and macrophages .
