Zinc Basics

Zinc is a natural constituent of soil and is second only to iron as a metal naturally present in the human body. The National Research Council has established a Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of 30 mg of zinc for human consumption. Zinc is antimicrobial and inhibits the proliferation of many viruses, moss, fungus, algae and mildew.
